RideSafe

Product Ideation

Project RideSafe started with the goal to provide economical and superb ride sharing services to working parents and fill the current market gap.

The team started brainstorming by working on separate sketches and putting together inspiring visual materials.

In this section we are including our team sketches, moodboard, style guide, and marketing materials (brand materials).

User Testing & Findings

Method
We found 3 users to test our prototype at the mid-fidelity level in order to gauge the functionality of the application for both the parent’s and the driver’s perspective. Our method of testing consisted of interviewing and testing tasks conducted on a mobile phone. We had two different group members test subjects that met our target participant requirements. The goal was to develop and test a mobile prototype since a majority of use would occur on mobile devices.

Target User
We had two target participants for this application: Parent and Driver. On the parent side, we screened for users to be parents, used smartphones and had at least one child. On the driver side, we screened for users to be people with driving experience.

Recommendations

  • For the “Call” button, provide hints as to who the button will call (Driver or Parent)
  • Make the prototype more Hi-Fi so users understand some certain design intention
  • Include a checklist for the driver before trip begins
  • Hamburger-style menu functionality
  • Considerations of car seat sizes
  • Show details of the car and driver before the trip begins
